The project is an experiment of the applicability of Living structures (Baubotanik) to the urban context: a specific area, “Piazzale Segni” in Sassari. The area, despite being distant from the downtown, is very populated and is hub of countless activities and entertainment, as well as businesses and meeting places, affecting much of the population.
The large open space of 17,000 square meters represents a contemporary urban phenomena that has yet to be read and deciphered and whose languages does not yet have a clear position in the critique of urban settlements phenomena.
Such a mix of conventional and unconventional activities that came to coagulate around“Piazzale Segni”, convinced us to propose a structure that still adds an element that could enhance the enjoyment of this place of urban life. Again in an unconventional way and looking toward the future, this is the concept that better interpret the particular genius loci of “Piazzale Antonio Segni”.
Living structure, Urban Value.
